NI: Senior police officer to take up NCA post
Assistant Chief Constable Will Kerr of the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) has announced he will leave the job to join the National Crime Agency.
ACC Kerr is one of Northern Ireland’s most senior police officers and has been offered the position of NCA director, with responsibility for leading investigations into child sexual exploitation.
He became ACC with responsibility for the PSNI’s crime operations department two years ago.
BBC News reports that ACC Kerr has asked the Policing Board for permission to take up the NCA role on secondment.
