NI: Sir Anthony Hart submits historical abuse report
Sir Anthony Hart, a retired judge of the High Court, has submitted the final report of the Historical Institutional Abuse Inquiry to the Executive Office.
The investigation, started in 2013, looked into abuse taking place in 22 residential homes for children from 1922-95.
The full report is now with the First Minister and deputy First Minister, and will be published on Friday 20 January.
Sir Anthony, chair of the inquiry, said: “I want to thank everyone who came forward to tell us of their experiences, as I know how hard it was for many to find the courage to do so.
“I also want to thank all those who worked with the inquiry in a co-operative way, and by doing so helped my colleagues and myself to complete our report on time.”
