Sixty new solicitors admitted by Law Society of Ireland
Sixty newly qualified solicitors were conferred with their Parchments and admitted to the Roll of Solicitors by the Law Society of Ireland at the Parchment Ceremony in Presidents’ Hall last night.
President of the High Court Mr Justice Nicholas Kearns congratulated the new solicitors, many flanked by their families and loved ones, on qualifying.
They were addressed by Kevin O’Higgins, president of the Law Society, as well as guest speaker Pat Rabbitte TD.
Mr Rabbitte praised the new solicitors for joining “a profession that is critical to our society”.
The winners of prizes for top law students were also announced. The Findlater Scholarship, worth €5,000, went to David Vos.
The Arthur Cox Foundation Prize, worth €2,000, went to Aonghus McClafferty, while the €750 Gallagher Shatter prize went to Tomás Bailey and the €350 Thomson Reuters prize to Anna Delaney.
