NI: Solicitor Anne Kingsley appointed to education board
Solicitor Anne Kingsley has been appointed to the board of Northern Ireland’s Council for the Curriculum, Examinations & Assessment (CCEA).
Ms Kingsley is qualified in England and Wales and works as a professional support lawyer for LexisNexis, specialising in local government law, including education, judicial review and other public law issues.
She brings experience in governance through her membership of the governance committee of a local youth football club, strategic decision making and making an impact with others through her membership of a Board of Governors.
The CCEA’s role is to keep under review and provide advice on the three areas of the curriculum, examinations and assessment. Its membership comprises a chairperson and 13 members.
Ms Kingsley has been appointed alongside a new chairperson and six other ordinary members, one of whom has been re-appointed.
Education Minister Peter Weir said: “I am very pleased to appoint a new chairperson and members to the Council. The wealth of knowledge and expertise they bring to the board will no doubt prove invaluable.
“I would also like to thank the outgoing chairperson, Trevor Carson, for his dedication and service. I am grateful to him for providing direction and leadership for the last eight years and in meeting the challenges posed by the current pandemic.
“Finally, I would also like to extend my thanks to the outgoing members for their contribution to the Council’s work and achievements.”
