Solicitor Richard Hammond to chair Law Society probate committee
Richard Hammond of Hammond Good Solicitors has been appointed chairperson of the Law Society of Ireland’s probate, administrations and trusts committee.
Mr Hammond, who is based in Mallow, will chair the important committee for a two-year term until November 2017.
It comprises around a dozen solicitors specialising in the area of wills and administration of estates.
The committee’s function includes making submissions to Government consultations that would affect the law in these areas.
Mr Hammond told The Corkman that he wanted to use the role to “increase the appreciation, understanding and respect, both amongst the solicitors’ profession and the public, of the work requires in wills and administration of estates in order to minimise difficulties and ensure satisfactory outcomes”.
