NI: Solicitors and barristers to go head to head in annual charity match
Solicitors and barristers are set to go head to head in a charity football match this Friday.
Belfast Solicitors Association (BSA) will compete with The Bar of Northern Ireland in the first of what they hope will become an annual face-off in the legal profession.
All proceedings from the match will go to mental health charity Inspire, while the winners will claim the inaugural BSA Annual Inspire Charity Cup.
The match kicks off at 6pm at Solitude FC in North Belfast this Friday, and the BSA has invited “all those from the local legal world”.
Eoghan McKenna, chair of the BSA, told Irish Legal News: “We are grateful to Inspire, our charity partner, in particular, for their assistance in making this significant event come together.
“The linkage between mental health/wellbeing/exercise/sport has been well documented. The lawyers playing in and supporting this event are anxious to assist the crucial work undertaken by Inspire.
“The presentation of the cup will take place after the match at the DOY, Belfast. All are welcome to attend to enjoy and assist our charity efforts.”
