Solicitors appointed as consulting attorneys of Mexican Embassy
Ronan Deasy and Stephen Kirwan have been appointed as consulting attorneys of the Mexican Embassy in Ireland.
For the next five years, the two solicitors will advise the Embassy on legal matters relating to its citizens residing in Ireland. Mexican citizens will also be referred to the solicitors for advice on Irish legal matters.
Mr Deasy is a solicitor at Cork-based O’Donoghue and Associates, while Mr Kirwan is a partner at KOD Lyons Solicitors in Dublin.
Commenting on his appointment, Mr Deasy said: “I am delighted to have been appointed consulting attorney of the Mexican Embassy in Ireland. I look forward to fulfilling my duties and to providing legal services to Mexican citizens living in the Republic of Ireland in this official capacity.
“Many thanks to the Mexican Secretariat of Foreign Affairs and the Mexican Ambassador Carolina Zaragoza Flores for this honour and to my colleagues at O’Donoghue and Associates Solicitors for the support.
“Mexico and Ireland share excellent relations, a similar history and common culture. I am honoured to be a part of this story.”
Mr Kirwan said: “I am honoured to have been appointed a a consulting attorney of the Mexican Embassy in Ireland. I look forward to working closely with the Embassy on a number of projects and also look forward to providing legal services to members of the Mexican community living in this jurisdiction.
“In particular I would like to thank Ambassador Carolina Zaragoza Flores and her team to date and I look forward to working with her and her team in the future.”
