Struck-off Mullingar solicitor refused re-admission to roll
Struck-off Mullingar solicitor David Walsh has failed in his High Court bid to be re-admitted to the Roll of Solicitors, The Irish Times reports.
Mr Justice Peter Kelly ruled that Mr Walsh, formerly of David Walsh & Co Solicitors, was “not a fit and proper person” to practise as a solicitor.
Mr Walsh, who qualified in 1982, practised in his own firm from 1990-2012, but was struck off in 2014 after the Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal made several findings of misconduct against him.
The Law Society of Ireland opposed his readmission on various grounds, including his alleged failure to refer in his applications to seven other disciplinary proceedings against himself.
