Suspended Carlow solicitor found in contempt of High Court orders
A suspended Carlow solicitor has been found in contempt of High Court orders restraining her from acting as or holding herself out as a solicitor.
Imelda Leahy, formerly practising as Imelda Leahy & Company Solicitors in County Carlow, was suspended by orders of the President of the High Court dated 3 June 2016 and 17 June 2016.
Due to further breaches by Ms Leahy, the Law Society of Ireland brought a motion for attachment and committal before the President of the High Court on 18 July 2017. It was ordered that the existing orders would remain in force until further order of the High Court.
A letter sent by the Law Society through McDowell Purcell to Bar Associations advises lawyers in the area of Ms Leahy’s suspension.
