Suspended solicitor to be struck off
A suspended solicitor found guilty of professional misconduct in relation to a 2007 land transaction should be struck off, a tribunal has said.
The Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal (SDT) last month found Declan O’Callaghan guilty on for counts of professional misconduct in relate to the sale of lands in Aughadiffin, Kilkelly, Co Mayo in April 2007.
Mr O’Callaghan, formerly of Kilrane O’Callaghan & Co in Roscommon, has been suspended from practice since 2018 for unrelated reasons.
The SDT has directed the Law Society of Ireland to bring a High Court motion for Mr O’Callaghan to be struck off.
