Friends and colleagues of Thomas Doherty, one of Derry’s best-known solicitors, have been shocked and saddened at his sudden death over the weekend after a short illness.
Mr Doherty ran his own firm in the city for many years and was a popular figure in Derry’s legal community.
He was a strong supporter of the SDLP and the party’s leader Colum Eastwood paid homage to Mr Doherty.
He said: “It was with great shock and sadness that I heard of the untimely death of Thomas ‘Tucker’ Doherty.
