Mr Lyon, based in London, will lead the growth and expansion of the firm’s financial services practice, which supports major banks, lenders as well as the payments and fintech sector.

TLT has a seven-person financial services team in Belfast, made up of one legal director, three partners and three associates.

Mr Lyon said: “The financial services market is evolving rapidly – driven by a range of issues from disruptive regulation like Open Banking and PSD2 and the fight against financial crime, to technology innovation – and we’ve been working hand in hand with clients to help them understand and address the challenges and opportunities this creates.
