Tributes paid at Monaghan Circuit Court

Tributes were paid to the late Kenneth Fogarty SC, Donal Keane BL and Patrick MacEntee SC KC at Monaghan Circuit Court yesterday morning.
Before the court commenced its business, Judge John Aylmer said words in tribute to each of the lawyers.
Mr Fogarty and Mr Keane both practised on the Northern Circuit, and Mr Keane served as the State prosecutor for Co Leitrim until his death last week following a short illness.
Mr MacEntee, the formidable defence lawyer, former Bar Council chairman and native of Co Monaghan, commenced his practice on the Northern Circuit.
Judge Aylmer extended his deep sympathy to the respective families of the deceased on their loss.
Frank Martin BL, the State prosecutor for Co Monaghan, paid tribute to his late colleagues on behalf of the Bar.
Dermot O’Neill, State solicitor for Co Monaghan, paid tribute to all of the deceased on behalf of the solicitors’ profession.
