NI: Tributes paid to late Judge John McKee
Members of the legal profession have paid tribute to the late Judge John McKee, who passed away earlier this month.
His funeral is set to take place this Friday 19 January, 1.30pm at Killinchy Presbyterian Church.
Commenting on his legacy, Liam McCollum QC, chairman of the Bar of Northern Ireland, said: “It is with great sadness that we learned the news of the passing of His Honour John McKee.
“Our thoughts are with his wife Annette and three children, as well as his extended family of siblings, grandchildren and friends.
“John enjoyed an illustrious career at the Bar before being elevated to Bench where he was known for his fairness and dedication to the rule of law as a Judge. In the Trinity Term of 1995 John was appointed as a Bencher of the Inn of Court where he maintained a strong connection with the Bar of Northern Ireland until his death.”
