Tributes paid to the late Judge Mary O’Halloran
Tributes have been paid to a former Co Limerick judge who has passed away at the age of 65.
Judge Mary O’Halloran was appointed to the bench in October 1992 after practising as a solicitor in Tralee for sixteen years, and retired in 2012 after a twenty-year judicial career.
Judge Mary Larkin, sitting in Newcastle West District Court, hailed her predecessor as someone with a “fine legal mind”, the Limerick Leader reports.
Aidan Judge, state solicitor for Limerick, said she was “a very industrious and hardworking district court judge”.
Insp Brian O’Donovan, speaking on behalf of An Garda Síochána, thanked the late judge for her “excellent service to the State”. Deirdre Moore offered sympathy from the Courts Service.
