Northern Ireland firm Millar McCall Wylie has welcomed Leah Deehan as a senior solicitor and Robyn-Dee Herdman as an associate.

Ms Deehan joins the firm’s private client department, while Ms Herdman joins the corporate and commercial teams.

An experienced solicitor, Ms Deehan will specialise in wills and probate and controllership in addition to care of the elderly and estate planning, working closely with one of the firm’s founding partners, Conor Wylie.

Having studied law at Queens University Belfast and in Zaragoza, Spain, she has gained significant experience in private client law, which she brings to her new role based in the firm’s Ballyhackamore office.

Ms Deehan said: “Millar McCall Wylie is known for being a dynamic law firm with a positive, supportive culture. It has a diverse client base and an excellent reputation in my particular area of expertise.

“I am delighted to be taking up this role in the busy private client department — and to be based in the heart of East Belfast, where I’ve lived all my life!”

Mr Wylie said: “We are very pleased to welcome Leah to the private client team. We pride ourselves on being ‘lawyers for life’ — meaning we are equipped to provide expert legal support at any stage of our clients’ personal or business lives. Leah will undoubtedly help further grow this offering.”

Originally from Hillsborough, County Down, Ms Herdman graduated from Queen’s University Belfast in 2015 and has been working in corporate and commercial law with a global law firm since then.

She brings experience in all aspects of corporate transactions including M&A, shareholder arrangements and contracts.

Ms Herdman said: “I was drawn to Millar McCall Wylie’s modern and pragmatic approach, as well as its broad range of specialism including niche areas like media law.

“I am very glad to have the opportunity to become more involved in work within the Northern Ireland market and to be working alongside the successful corporate and commercial teams.”

Partner Damian McParland added: “Robyn-Dee’s appointment is an extremely positive development for our corporate and commercial law services. Her expertise will allow us to enhance our services to new and existing clients, as part of our commitment to ongoing excellence and growth.”
