Two new prosecutors for Limerick to be appointed
Solicitor Pádraig Mawe and Cephas Power BL are set to be appointed as prosecutors for Limerick, the Limerick Leader reports.
The Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) said the men were selected for appointment “following competitive processes”.
Mr Mawe will succeed Michael Murray as State Solicitor for Limerick City following his retirement at the end of this month.
Mr Power will succeed Michael Collins BL - who recently announced plans to pursue a new career path - as prosecutor for County Limerick.
The role will see Mr Power work closely with Aidan Judge, the State Solicitor for County Limerick, and prosecute the majority of county cases before Limerick Circuit Court.
His appointment will have no impact on the position of John O’Sullivan BL, the State prosecutor for Limerick City.
