UCD Law announces new FET entry route
UCD Sutherland School of Law has announced a new FET entry route into all of its eleven law degree programmes from the 2018/19 academic year.
Students studying specified Level Five and Level Six FET awards, who have excelled in their studies in further education and training institutions, are being encouraged to apply for one of six FET places on the university’s BCL and BCL with degrees.
There are also four FET places for Business and Law.
UCD academic staff will be on hand during UCD Open Day 2017 to discuss the new entry route with potential applicants.
Professor Imelda Maher, Dean of the Sutherland School of Law, said: “The Sutherland School of Law is keen to encourage those who have excellent FET awards to apply for our undergraduate programmes.
“The School is rightly reaching out to a wider pool of students who we believe should be part of the number 1 Law School in Ireland.”
Dr Liam Thornton, who led the introduction of the FET entry route, added: “This new FET route recognises the diversity of learning journeys our students will take before coming to study with us.
“The introduction of a FET route to our law degrees emphasises the commitment of UCD School of Law to attracting a diverse cohort of students, which greatly enriches our learning community in UCD.”
