NI: Ulster University law professor supporting Salvadoran Civil War initiative
A law professor at Ulster University is spending ten days in El Salvador to support the establishment of a new State office to search for those disappeared during the country’s civil war.
Professor Cath Collins, professor of transitional justice in the Transitional Justice Institute at Ulster University School of Law, will return from the trip next week.
Her visit has included meetings and training with Commissioners and search office staff, an audience with the president of the Inter-American Court of Human Rights, travel to the rural Chalatenango district heavily affected by the conflict, and discussion sessions with families and survivors.
