Updated edition of probate law book takes account of new laws
An updated edition of a popular book on the principles and rules of construction and post probate issues has been published.
The Construction of Wills, Second Edition, updates the 2001 book to take account of recent case law as well as new legislation, such as the Land and Conveyancing Law Reform Act 2009.
The new edition from Clarus Press also takes account of the amendments of the Rules of the Superior Courts by SI No 254 of 2016 relating to the conduct of trials, and SI No 255 of 2016 which deals with pre-trial procedures.
The author, Dr Albert Keating, is a barrister and senior lecturer in law at Waterford Institute of Technology (WIT).
Dr Keating told Irish Legal News: “It contains all the recent and important decisions by the courts in relation to construction matters, and recent legislation and statutory instruments relevant to construction matters and proceedings.
“While the book is written primarily with legal practitioners in mind, it may also be viewed as a treatise on the construction of wills and of interest to academic lawyers, and may be useful reference work for law students.”
