NI: Victims’ organisation opens office in London
A victims’ organisation based in Lisnaskea has announced the opening of an office in London.
South East Fermanagh Foundation (SEFF) today became the first Northern Ireland-based victims’ group to open an office in the British capital, which it says will allow it to support victims and survivors based in Great Britain.
Yasmin Wright has been appointed as an advocacy support worker in the new office, joining an existing advocacy service team.
Kenny Donaldson, director of services at SEFF, said: “Following a recent recruitment process we will now have a presence in Great Britain, in central London. This development is significant for two reasons, we wish to ensure that GB-based victims/survivors have equality of access to advocacy services and it is also essential that we have a presence at the heart of decision making for our nation, we must bring the message of innocent victims/survivors of terrorism directly to our national policymakers and opinion formers”.
Mr Donaldson also said the expanded service would help the organisation “ensure that right prevails, those who seek to diminish the activities and legacy of terrorism will not succeed”.
