Two lawyers at Callan Tansey Solicitors have called on fellow legal professionals to skydive in support of Spinal Injuries Ireland (SII).

Avril Flannery and Kathrina Bray jumped from a plane at 10,000 feet to raise cash for SII, the only charity in Ireland supporting those with a spinal cord injury. SII relies on fundraising for 60 per cent of its income.

SII wants to start a campaign by challenging solicitors to complete the same skydive, which the pair filmed for social media, to raise funds.

Ms Flannery and Ms Bray are now calling on Dublin firm Hayes Solicitors, Wicklow firm Augustus Cullen Law, and Sligo firm Hegarty and Armstrong Solicitors to complete the same challenge.

The pair said: “Through our work, in acting for patients who have been injured as a result of medical negligence and personal injury, we have seen the catastrophic devastation and life changing injuries that a spinal cord injury can cause. Without the expert support and assistance of Spinal Injuries Ireland, individuals would not know where to turn or what their new participation in life can be.”
