NI: Video tribute paid to Lord Kerr on retirement from UK Supreme Court
The president of the UK Supreme Court has paid tribute to Lord Kerr of Tonaghmore in a special video to mark his retirement from the bench.
Lord Kerr, a former Lord Chief Justice of Northern Ireland and one of the inaugural members of the UKSC on its creation in 2009, retired on Wednesday.
It was not possible to hold a valedictory ceremony for Lord Kerr, as would usually take place on the retirement of a judge, due to the Covid-19 restrictions.
Lord Reed, president of the Supreme Court, has instead made a short video to pay tribute to his work and to say a fond farewell to him on behalf of the whole bench.
