Walkers Ireland announces multiple senior lawyer promotions
Walkers Ireland LLP has announced its 2021 partner, of counsel and senior associate promotions.
The latest round of senior lawyer promotions included six lawyers from four practice areas, including asset finance, asset management and investment funds, corporate, insolvency, and dispute resolution.
The firm said that the promotions reflect the high quality of service and outstanding work that each practitioner has delivered to its clients on a regular basis.
Killian McSharry, who has been promoted to partner in the asset finance group, advises banks, financial institutions, and international aircraft operating lessors, aircraft owners, financial arrangers and private equity groups on asset finance transactions.
William Greensmyth, promoted to partner in the insolvency and dispute resolution group, practices principally in the areas of formal insolvency procedures and contentious litigation. In particular, he advises financial institutions and private equity firms in relation to distressed loan situations, enforcement options, and the remedies available. He also acts for insolvency practitioners once appointed as receivers, liquidators or examiners.
The firm also announced the promotion of two senior associates, Michael Caulfield (asset finance) and Eoin Ryan (corporate/M&A), to of counsel, highlighting the further growth in these areas.
Mr Caulfield’s experience includes advising banks, financial institutions, and international aircraft operating lessors, aircraft owners, financial arrangers and private equity groups on asset finance transactions.
Mr Ryan has extensive expertise in share/asset acquisitions and disposals, joint ventures, partnerships, shareholders’ agreements and has worked on domestic and multi-jurisdictional transactions from the initial stage through to completion.
In addition to Walkers’ new partner and of counsel appointments, 2021 has also seen the promotion of Eimear O’Flynn and Michael Dyulgerov to senior associate in the asset management and investment funds team.
Commenting on the promotions, Ireland managing partner Garry Ferguson said: “These promotions reflect the high quality of service and outstanding work delivered to our clients and to the business on a consistent basis and I am delighted to recognise these achievements.
“As we announce our new partner, of counsel and senior associate appointments at Walkers Ireland LLP, I am pleased to be able to say that our senior management team across the firm continues to be balanced with the gender split being almost 50:50. Those promoted have each shined with their contributions to the firm and our clients during their tenure.”
