Waterford firm Nolan Farrell and Goff celebrates 45 years
Waterford firm Nolan Farrell and Goff has celebrated 45 years in business at their premises in Newtown Lodge.
One of the largest provincial solicitors’ practices in Ireland, the firm was formally established in 1975 but can trace its history even further back to 1914.
George A Nolan & Co, which was founded in 1914, and R J Farrell (later Farrell & Farrell), founded in 1920, merged in 1975 and moved to offices in Newtown to become Nolan Farrell and Goff.
The firm now has five partners, three associates, six solicitors, three legal executives, an office manager and a team of administrative staff, all of whom are currently working remotely due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Managing partner Donal O’Connell is the only remaining member of the team who helped to found the practice in 1975.
Mr O’Connell said: “That the business has grown and endured is testament to the foresight and drive of the founding partners through a period of great change in Waterford, the tremendous work ethic of the many staff and the support of our loyal clients over the years.”
The firm plans to celebrate the landmark anniversary “as soon as things get back to normal”.
