Dublin solicitor Eamonn Carney to cycle to Cork for charity

Dublin solicitor Eamonn Carney is “pedalling for a dram” along Ireland’s Ancient East later this month in support of the Christina Nobel Foundation and the Peter McVerry Trust.

Mr Carney, principal at Carney McCarthy Solicitors, is setting out on a cycle next weekend with his friend Yazuki Ozeki (Yaz) and others. Yaz once cycled all the way from Japan to Ireland, subsequently writing a book about the journey and donating the proceeds to the Christina Nobel Foundation.

“Given the tagline of Yaz’s book about his 1998 cycle was ‘Pedalling for a Pint from Japan to Ireland’, we have identified various distilleries along the way and will be ‘pedalling for a dram along Ireland’s Ancient East’,” Mr Carney told Irish Legal News.

Mr Carney is a long-time supporter of the Wexford Cycle in support of the Peter McVerry Trust – but his latest journey will take him all the way from Dublin to Cork via Wexford.

A growing group is now taking part in the trip and are raising cash via iDonate, aiming to raise at least €1,000 for the charities.
