Wicklow solicitor fails in challenge to €650,000 cut to client's legal bill

Wicklow solicitor Joseph Buckley has failed in a bid to challenge the Taxing Master’s decision to cut the legal bill he sent a client by €650,000.

Mr Buckley took the dispute with his client Denis Doyle to the High Court after he was ordered in January 2017 to slash his bill, the Irish Independent reports.

Mr Doyle is taking separate proceedings against his former solicitor seeking a sum of €565,000 which Mr Doyle alleges belongs to him.

Mr Justice Donald Binchy said the High Court should not intervene in the reductions made by Taxing Master Declan O’Neill.
