William Fry advises on sale of Boland’s Quay site in Dublin’s Docklands
William Fry has acted for the Nama receiver in the sale of Boland’s Quay to global tech giant Google.
Boland’s Quay is a 400,000 square feet mixed use office retail and residential scheme situated at the Boland’s Mill site in Dublin’s docklands.
The development is one of the largest and most significant urban regeneration projects being undertaken within Dublin city centre and one of the few Nama-funded projects.
Since the development project at the site received planning permission in July 2015, Nama has provided funding for demolition and enabling works. In December 2016, it committed to providing funding for the construction of the entire scheme in one phase.
The William Fry team acting on the transaction was led by real estate partner Andrew Muckian and included Jarleth Heneghan, Rachel Stanton, Anne Doyle, Cassandra Byrne and Siobhan Carlin.
Mr Muckian (pictured) said: “We are delighted to have been involved in the Bolands Quay project since its inception through the planning phase, enabling works, construction and now sale. This has been a very exciting and interesting project to work on.
“It will see the regeneration of an iconic Dublin landmark site in an area that is cementing itself as one of the technology hubs of Europe.”
