Workplace Relations Commission launches consultation on remote hearings
The Workplace Relations Commission (WRC) has launched a consultation on remote hearings during the coronavirus pandemic.
All adjudication hearings, face-to-face conciliations and meditations, and on-site inspections have been postponed until after Tuesday 5 May 2020.
However, the body has said it is now planning to “explore alternative approaches to providing an opportunity for parties to have complaints processed” in case COVID-19 restrictions continue past that date.
A consultation paper published on Friday sets out “issues to be considered and possible pathways for the parties and the WRC” in regard to remote hearings and written submissions.
Stakeholders have been invited to make submissions by e-mail to david.small@workplacerelations.ie by 5.30pm on 30 April 2020.
