NI: Worthingtons staff to abseil down Europa in charity fundraiser
Staff at Worthingtons Solicitors in Belfast will abseil down the Europa Hotel in support of a local sarcoma cancer charity.
Ten colleagues and friends have volunteered to take on the challenge in a bid to raise cash for the Boom Foundation, a Northern Ireland charity which supports those affected by sarcoma cancer.
The announcement follows a coffee morning last week where the firm raised £140.00 for the charity.
The firm has now begun accepting donations via a JustGiving page ahead of the abseil on Sunday 8 May 2016.
Maxine Orr, partner at Worthingtons Solicitors, said: “For those of you who know me, you will be aware of how Sarcoma has affected my family and its impact on those closest to us.
“Despite my fear of heights (and my age!) I am doing this to raise funds for Boom - a NI charity that has been wonderful to us through a difficult time and it feels great to be giving something back. I have coerced seven of my work colleagues and two great friends to join me in the abseil but primarily to ensure that I actually follow through!
“Your donations will only add to the pressure - many many thanks!”
