‘Young and talented barrister’ Katie Dawson passes away
Friends and colleagues of Katie Dawson BL have paid tribute to the “young and talented barrister” after she passed away yesterday.
Ms Dawson, a graduate of UCC School of Law and the King’s Inns who called to the Bar in 2002, was widely known for her work in the family and childcare courts.
The King’s Inns tweeted: “RIP to our courageous and much loved alumna, Katie Dawson BL. Everyone at King’s Inns are so saddened to hear of the passing of a young and talented lawyer.”
Human rights firm KOD Lyons added: “Katie Dawson BL was a much loved colleague and friend to us at KOD Lyons. A fierce and able advocate and a human rights campaigner in child and family law, women’s rights, domestic violence issues. We will miss her guidance, much valued advice and good humour.”
