ICEL Competition Law Conference in partnership with A&L Goodbody – programme now available

Two years after the groundbreaking Competition (Amendment) Act 2022 was enacted, the new procedure for competition law enforcement in Ireland is taking shape, but significant questions remain in relation to the Act’s implementation, procedures, and effects.

The Irish Centre for European Law (ICEL) and A&L Goodbody are delighted to announce a conference that will explore recent developments in Irish competition law and the look ahead at what the ongoing rollout of the Act will mean for businesses, legal advisors, and regulators.

The conference is taking place on Thursday 17 October 2024 from 10:00 (registration from 9:30) to 17:00 in Chartered Accountants House, Pearse Street, Dublin 2.

Co-chaired by Dr Vincent Power SC, Partner, A&L Goodbody; Bernadette Quigley SC; and Ciarán Toland SC, the conference will feature leading experts addressing key issues shaping the development of Irish competition law.

The programme is available here.

This hybrid conference will focus on enforcement and will be supplemented by a webinar assessing recent developments in merger control later in the autumn, with details to follow shortly.

Conference tickets for in-person and online attendance are €399 for general admission; €249 for ICEL members (discount code: MEMBER); and €99 for trainee solicitors, pupil barristers, and students (discount code: TRAINEE). Please contact us directly at ICEL@tcd.ie for group discounts.
