Addleshaw Goddard recruits Jeanne-Marie Moriarty to lead new financial regulatory practice
International law firm Addleshaw Goddard LLP has recruited partner Jeanne-Marie Moriarty to lead a new financial services and regulation practice in Dublin.
The new team will advise clients on all aspects of financial regulation such as retail/consumer financial services, payments and financial markets, including many complex EU and Irish financial regulatory regimes, and the three pillars of CBI regulatory focus: authorisation, supervision and enforcement.
Ms Moriarty has significant in-house experience from her previous roles leading the legal functions of Bank of Ireland Private Banking Ltd and Bank of Ireland Insurance & Investments Ltd, and more recently as the head of litigation, and the principal lawyer, regulation and funds, for Bank of Ireland Group. Prior to this, she was head of legal for Aon Consulting.
She joins Addleshaw Goddard from Dublin law firm Beauchamps LLP, where she was a partner in financial services and regulation.
A qualified barrister and solicitor, Ms Moriarty specialises in the implementation, application and on-going governance of complex regulatory change initiatives within the financial services sector, whilst also having a wealth of commercial and practical experience on both the non-contentious and contentious areas of CBI regulatory focus.
Mark Walsh, head of Ireland at Addleshaw Goddard, said: “We are thrilled to welcome Jeanne-Marie to Addleshaw Goddard. Establishing a financial services and regulation practice in Dublin represents the evolution of the firm as we continue in our commitment to expanding and enhancing our offering within the financial services sector.
“Jeanne Marie’s expertise in financial services regulation will further enhance the exceptional legal counsel and dynamic level of support available to our clients.”
Ms Moriarty added: “I am delighted to have joined Addleshaw Goddard to lead the firm’s financial services and regulation practice in Ireland.
“The financial services sector is facing regulatory change at a faster pace than ever before and I am looking forward to providing clients with expert, practical and commercial advice on how they can understand and navigate this increasingly complex regulatory environment.”
