Alison Millar

Mrs Millar was a partner at Coleraine-based Macaulay Wray prior to her retirement from practice in 2017. She carried out part-time judicial work for over 39 years before retiring from that work in 2020.

She was appointed as Lord-Lieutenant of County Londonderry by Queen Elizabeth II in 2018, having been a Deputy Lieutenant since 2009.

Mrs Millar joined the IHRB from 1 January 2023 as a nominee of the Irish National Hunt Steeplechase Committee. Mary Cullen and Angela Flanagan have also joined the board.

Darragh O’Loughlin, IHRB CEO, said: “The IHRB recognises the importance of having a board which reflects the industry and wider Irish society. The appointments show the organisation’s commitment to gender balance at board level, to all-Ireland representation and to the appointment of truly independent board members.”
