Weedentity will take advantage of recently relaxed Italian laws to sell a new cannabis oil product aimed at cats and dogs.

The Neapolitan entrepreneurs say that cannabis oil has anti-inflammatory properties and combats anxiety, panic and insomnia, Ansa reports.

The oil is low in THC, the psychoactive component of cannabis, but high in CBD, the element said to have a therapeutic effect.

Weedentity co-founder Chiara Basile said: “Our oils for dogs and cats do not have psychoative effects but only muscle relaxing. The animals are not ‘sedated’.

“As the World Health Organisation states, CBD, the only cannabinoid present in the oils, is not addictive.”
