And finally… basta pasta
A desk-based soldier’s weight was fair game in a performance review, a court in Italy has ruled.
A regional court in Tuscany dismissed a complaint brought by a soldier working as an accountant for the logistics regiment of a paratroopers brigade in Pisa.
The soldier claimed that remarks about his “excessive weight” in a written performance review were based on a grudge held by his superiors, The Telegraph reports.
However, the panel of magistrates said the comment “does not appear out of place since it is a fact that can objectively affect the operational possibilities of the soldier”.
They added that “even if he performs office duties … [he] can never be compared to a simple employee”. The performance reviews were upheld.
