And finally… blooming cheek

The owner of a flower shop has been arrested for stealing flowers from graves at a nearby cemetery over the course of several months.

Police installed CCTV cameras at the cemetery after two plants disappeared from the mausoleum and replacement plants were stolen two days later.

They eventually caught a woman in a minivan taking the plants, who New Jersey officers recognised as an ex-police dispatcher and flower shop owner.

Lynda Wingate, 59, has since been charged with the disorderly person’s offense of theft of moveable property.
