Joandrea McAtee, 27, is suspected by police of having allowed three pupils aged 11, 13 and 17 to drive the bus for a short distance on a rural road.

An investigation was launched after a parent complained about the alleged incident to school authorities.

Police in Porter County in the US state of Indiana arrested her on suspicion of child neglect, the Indianapolis Star reports.
