And finally… crystal clear

A 20-year old drug dealer – who ran his crystal meth supplying business like a modern corporation, with business strategy meetings and a system that saw him charge interest on debts and give price guides, discounts and refunds for complaints – has been praised by a judge for his business acumen.

Justice Ann Lyons was sentencing Brodie Gary Satterley at the Brisbane Supreme Court when she remarked that while his meth operation “wasn’t the best business, it’s a good business model”.

Sentencing him at Brisbane Supreme Court to three years with immediate parole, the judge encouraged the defendant to use his skills for good.

The Courier-Mail reported Justice Lyons telling Slattery: “You obviously could do very well in business because you clearly are quite intelligent. Can I say that if you actually did some more study you could really make something of yourself? So please don’t come back to court.”
