And finally… under par
A man accused of biting off a fellow golfer’s finger during an altercation on the course has been released on bail.
Derek Harkins, 46, has been ordered not to drink alcohol while he awaits trial on a charge of “mayhem”.
He was arrested after a fight broke out between two foursomes at Southers Marsh Golf Club in the US state of Massachusetts.
Emergency services arrived at the scene to find that one of the men had a finger bitten off down to the knuckle, Golfweek reports.
The rest of the finger was placed on ice but could not be reattached.
The charge of “mayhem” against Harkins is defined as “malicious intent to maim or disfigure” and carries a sentence of up to 20 years.
