And finally… heart of gold
Neil Young has claimed victory in his pro-climate campaign against Barclaycard, who were due to sponsor his London concert with Bob Dylan.
The music legend announced that the Hyde Park concert would go ahead next summer as an independent event, without backing from promoter British Summer Time (BST) and sponsor Barclaycard as advertised.
He had earlier said, in a now-deleted post on his website, that Barclaycard’s sponsorship “doesn’t work for me” because of its funding of fossil fuel extraction.
Barclays received a D+ rating in a 2018 report by Banking on Climate Change for its status as a major funder of fossil fuel extraction.
The bank told BBC News it would not comment on the concert switch-out.
