And finally… law of the jungle
Authorities in northern India have come under pressure to prosecute a troop of monkeys who stoned a man to death.
Dharampal Singh, 72, was pelted with bricks and stones by the aggressive simians and later died in hospital.
His brother, Krishnapal Singh, has now written to authorities and demanded that the “rogue monkeys … must pay for it”.
He said the family had “given a written complaint against the monkeys but police don’t seem convinced”.
Local police officer Chitwan Singh told The Times of India: “How can we register a case against the monkeys? It would make us a laughing stock. I don’t think this is a logical demand.”
He added: “We were informed of the bizarre accident, registered it in our case diary and conducted an autopsy.”
