And finally… mouse trap
A major internet service provider has been accused of deliberately and unlawfully infecting over 600,000 users with malware.
South Korean telecom provider KT is said to have acted disproportionately to prevent customers from using a service provided by Webhard which strains KT’s network.
Instead of simply blocking network traffic related to Webhard, KT allegedly injected malware which rendered some users’ PCs completely unusable, Tom’s Hardware reports.
A total of 13 KT employees and subcontractors have been charged with offences under South Korea’s Protection of Communications Secrets Act and Information and Communications Network Act.
Investigations into the incident are ongoing.
