According to police, Markel Towner, 26, said his name was “Deangelo Towns” even though a lanyard around his neck clearly read “Markel Towner”.

He was found sitting in a car by police responding to a 911 call in Lincoln, Nebraska.

Mr Towner was taken into custody by police after a brief struggle, WPXI reports.

He has been charged with resisting arrest, obstructing a government operation, false reporting, child neglect and third degree domestic assault.
