And finally… slippery slope
A musical based on Gwyneth Paltrow’s high-profile court battle with an optometrist who claimed he skied into her is to be staged in London.
Gwyneth Goes Skiing, featuring original music by American singer-songwriter Leland, will be performed in the Pleasance Theatre from 13–23 December.
The musical will recap the widely-publicised trial in which 76-year-old Terry Sanderson claimed the Hollywood star collided with him at a ski resort in 2016, causing a traumatic brain injury and broken ribs.
Ms Paltrow counter-sued for a symbolic $1, claiming that Mr Sanderson had in fact collided with her, and the jury ultimately sided with her version of events.
As she left the courtroom, Ms Paltrow famously leaned over and whispered to Mr Sanderson: “I wish you well.”
Awkward Productions describes its musical adaptation as a “story of love, betrayal, skiing, and (somehow) Christmas — where you are the jury!”
