Amanda Eggert and James Roth have been accused of recklessly endangering safety as well as neglect after their truck was seen driving erratically into oncoming traffic on rural roads in Wisconsin.

Deputy Jeff Hahn told a court there was an 11-month-old baby in the car, reports Fox 29.

“As the nine-year-old exited the truck, it was still running and in drive when Mr Roth was sitting in the truck by himself,” he said.

“He turned the ignition off and the truck began rolling backwards down the hill towards the river. I jumped into the truck to hit the brakes and put the truck in park.”

The officer added both adults were drunk and that Mr Roth’s breath test was three times the limit.
