And finally… viva la vida loca
A woman who fell out with her then-boyfriend after a Coldplay concert has been ordered by a tribunal to repay him for the cost of her ticket.
The Civil Resolution Tribunal in British Columbia, Canada rejected arguments that the $450 CAD (around €300 or £250) ticket was a gift and held it was instead a loan.
The woman told the tribunal that she “thought the concert was a date” and her boyfriend “only asked if she would share the cost after the concert”.
However, she failed to prove that the ticket was a gift, failing to explain to the tribunal how long they had been dating or whether her boyfriend typically gave such gifts, the tribunal held.
At the same time, it refused to order her to repay the costs of food and accommodation that the couple shared during their trip to Vancouver for the concert, CTV News reports.
The woman was ordered to pay her now-ex the sum of $450 CAD for the ticket and $81 in accrued interest and fees.
