And finally… wonder of the world

Residents in Penzance, Cornwall are so sick of an overturned car in a hedge near their homes they set up a Facebook page appealing for it to get World Heritage status.

The “Get World Heritage status for the upside down car at Ludgvan Leaze” was created by locals after the car was left in the hedge for months.

It became such a usual sight that the locals decided to campaign to have the overturned car protected by UNESCO – granting it the same protection as the Taj Mahal.

So far the page has received over 1,200 likes in its first week on the web, and the creator of the page is happy with the awareness the project has raised for the overturned car near Penzance.

A spokesperson for the page said: “Please help raise awareness of the upside down car at Ludgvan Leaze, one of the oldest and best loved monuments in Penwith.

“Our vision is to make it a celebrated tourist attraction with gift shop, tea room, muddy car park and overpriced fudge with a blurry picture of the car on the label.”
