Arbitration Ireland welcomes new executive team
Gavin Woods, partner at Arthur Cox, has been elected as president of Arbitration Ireland at the association’s AGM.
The annual meeting was held in the Dublin International Arbitration Centre on Wednesday evening. Arbitration Ireland comprises members from bodies, firms and persons actively involved in the practice of international arbitration in Ireland, including foremost barristers, solicitors, architects and engineers.
Mr Woods thanked outgoing president Colm Ó hOisín SC for the extraordinary work and time he devoted to the role during his term. Mr Ó hOisín remains a member of the association’s executive committee.
David Barniville SC, former chairman of The Bar of Ireland, has been elected by the executive committee as vice-president.
Ciaran Fahy and Sean Aylward are departing from the executive committee, while it will be joined by Margaret Austin, partner at Dublin firm Eugene F. Collins, and Gerry Monaghan, chair of the Irish branch of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.
