Birth injuries seminar to raise funds for children’s charity
A one-day seminar on the legal and medical impact of birth injuries hosted by Augustus Cullen Law will raise funds for the Jack and Jill Children’s Foundation.
The medical negligence seminar, taking place in Dublin this December, will address topics including period payment orders versus lump sum payments, and the effects on patients; birth injury litigation from the perspective of obstetricians; recent cases that have come before the courts; and issues and trends in medical negligence in Ireland.
Speakers at the seminar will include barrister Alan Keating; Professor Chris Fitzpatrick, former master of the Coombe Women & Infants University Hospital; Professor Declan O’Rourke, paediatric neurologist at Temple Street Children’s University Hospital; and Sabrina O’Carroll, forensic and legal nursing consultant.
All proceeds from the event will go to the Jack and Jill Children’s Foundation, which offers support, advocacy and an in-home nursing service to help children and their families under the age of five years who have or develop a significant neurodevelopmental delay involving severe learning difficulties.
More information about the seminar at The Convention Centre Dublin on 5 December 2019, 10am–4pm, is available from info@aclsolicitors.ie.
